FULL BLUE MOON IN TAURUS

OCTOBER 31, 2020

What makes this a Blue Moon, you ask? There are two reasons we may be experiencing a Blue Moon. One is when we have two Full Moons within a calendar month, this occurs every two to three years and the second reason would be having four Full Moons within a season, in a three month span, in this scenario the third Full Moon is called a Blue Moon. Having two Blue Moons in a calendar year only occurs every 19 years.

The last time this occurred was in 2018, we had two Blue Moons in one year and only two months apart – and one was a lunar eclipse! Think back to all that has come to pass since that time… The next Blue Moon will be in August 2023. What would you like to create into being between now and then? The next time we will get two blue moons in a year will be 2037. What will have blossomed into being since 2018?

As the light of this Full Moon rises in the autumn night sky from the Scorpion Sun, illuminating the Taurian Moon, emotions arise and the energies of mystery, passion are  prominent as the invitation of change and regeneration fills the senses.

Second sign of the zodiac, Taurus, a fixed earth sign, is motivated to be a part of something larger, understanding essential needs that must be fulfilled in order to survive. Taurus seeks comfort in all things material, having a strong connection to the physical body, finding contentment in all things related to the senses. It finds serenity in self value and its sense of self worth. It is also related to security, stability and financial situations.

The planet of Uranus, The Great Awakener, shocks and shakes up the flavor of any sign it transits through and it will be in Taurus, first entered in March of 2019 and will remain here until 2026. Currently, Uranus is in retrograde, therefore, it is closer to the earth, its influence magnified, coupled with the Full Moon. Uranus is also in a conjunction with the Blue Moon in Taurus. Meaning that the energies of Uranus and the Moon both in Taurus are strongly relying on each other. This is a feeling for freedom and radical change, as well as, a stronger feeling of separation from the mainstream, for example: society and also authorities creating disruptions of our sense of stability and security. This Full Moon can bring to the forefront hyper awareness of our unconscious behaviors that we resort to, in order to generate safety in our lives. For instance: manipulation and self sabotage. Become aware, take note, with no judgement and see where your shadow work is, find more aligned ways to move through this energy.

This Full Moon is a great time for reflection on what may be changing in your life?

What area of your life is calling for your emotional attention?

How past and present changes in your life have given you clarity on reality, as it is?

What would happen if you surrendered to the present reality of what is?

If you have access to your birth chart see where the Taurus is in your chart to see where the reflection needs to be implemented. If you don’t have access to your birth chart, you’ll want to do a search online for a birth chart generator.

I encourage you to carve out some ‘you’ time this weekend for self care and pampering. Taurus invites you to enjoy some of your favorite pleasures. Also make some time for reflection, journaling, intention setting and honoring your ancestors, it is Samhain, now known as Halloween, after all. At this time of year, the veil between worlds is thinner and taking time to honor those you’ve loved, who have passed, may also be important.

While collectively it may be a Full Moon weekend that may bring revelations, surprises or even shocking disclosures, individually you may find it possible to enjoy your own pleasures and perhaps reconnect with forgotten delights and passed loved ones.
